I used to think I've got my preferred cue weight and balance point sorted out but not so sure now. Some cues weigh the same (I weighed them with good digital scales accurate to 2 decimal places) and have the same balance point but may feel heavier or lighter when playing. I suspect it's got something to do with the wood density...

So if I were to order another custom made cue, I think I'd probably provide a range rather than exact specs for the cuemaker to apply his knowledge and expertise on the wood. I'm sure an experienced cuemaker will make a good playing cue if the specs are within reasonable dimensions.

Nothing over 18.5 oz. No need for a heavier cue nowadays.

If you can't do what you're trying to with that, your technique is off, and a heavier cue won't change anything.
If you want to play the pink, but you're hampered by the red, you could always try to play the brown!

Most cues are 18 to 21 ounces, and the weight is often written at the base of the cue. You can get custom cues according to your need.
