In Hong Kong, I heard that some people is collect hunt and o'byrne cue,
but is not anyone can affordable!
I am a bit a purist (or a snob... ).
But for sure it has lost quite an amount of its value because of the joint made by somebody else than the maker.I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

Hmmm.
I'n not really sure what to think.
It is not the same as if it still would be the 1pc it formerly was.I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

So, out of curiousity, if the cue had a Will Hunt joint put on later on, it is still not the same thing because it was a one piece to begin with?
For me it is somewhat understandable why sombody wants to change his cue from 1pc to 3/4.
But if I'd do it the only person I'd ask woul dbe the maker itself, if available....I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

If I just want a good player I would not mind it so much if it was done by a reputable cue maker, but he did not mention who did the work, and the joint and pin look kind of strange. So, who knows if anything groovy was done to the cue while it was being altered, right?
The seller should really have sent the cue back to Hunt, or at least Osbourn to have the work done I would think.

i think the joint is from Golver cues, Hunt & O'byrne had used several kinds of jonits, one of which is very similar to Glover's, they are even connectable, from the pic, it seems to be, and the jonit of the extension seems like Glover's
we know that Hunt & Obyrne is so popular in UK, because of Jimmy White, but i wondered why it is so expensive in Hong Kong, something like more than 800 GBP, rediculous, the are nice cues, but now definitely overpriced
