Mine will be;
1. Tulip wood (reddish with nice grains)

2. Golden burrwood (with lots of decorative)

3. Padauk

Is walnut not used by English cue makers? It's a beautiful wood, and is very workable from the carpentry aspect. Here's a guitar made of figured walnut, probably the most exotic of walnuts:

david coutts had a very nice cue with a walnut splice for sale before christmas. i almost brought it but decided to get a MW cue instead. Im not sure what you call the grade of wallnut but it was the same you use in shotgun butts. AAA+ ?Cant remember. very very nice cue though.

I rather like some nice Cococolo. But there are many nice woods and we all like different things. It would be very boring if we all liked the same things.

butt wood

ebony & padouk go together very well all the cues i am messing about with have padouk,i also like cocobola ,have got most of woods listed in the posts just not got round to using them will do 1day
