must be a ghost I saw walking his dog the other day then - he looked healthier than when I last saw him last at the Mayfair Snooker Club in Tooting 15 years ago !!!!!!!! He told me he was selling up and judging by the machinery he's selling, he was serious.
I've just been on the cuesmith site in America and one of his lathes look to come from them, and they have a good reputation for quality bespoke machines - a point to consider is whether the machines offered are single or 3 phase - if they're single phase then they're a steal at the price as you can operate them from domestic supply (ie your garage), but if they're 3 phase you need an industrial unit which can be costly

You could always get a 3 phase supply installed in your house for around £200-£300.

Most of these machines can be run from a single phase anyway, although the load will obviously be large.

Even though he has given up making cues, I assume he will still share his knowledge with others on how to make them (LINK)

                      Teacup,
Weren't you the one who came here to tell us he died?
4000GBP is about USD$8000, is that correct. The cue smith lathe is only about $3000 brand new, even taking into account the sanding belt and so on, how could this auction be a steal?

I asked the question as others at the club had said so - when no-one could confirm one way or another I took my family down to the South Coast for a day out and called in to see if he was home, which he was, looking very fit and healthy, certainly not dead, about to take his dog for a walk on the beach. My family and I went with him and had a very nice day out

I see. I though he said he was broke and had lots of creditors after him so he had to close his shop and could not issue refund to his customers.

I am glad to hear from you that he is very healthy, and has a furniture and resturant business so is obviously not broke.
