Ideal butt size of a 3/4 cue

hey guys just wanted know what is the ideal butt size of a 3/4 cue ie 12" or 16"......if you guys can help out???

Roy I was thinking about this choice when I was choosing a cue. I went into Hamiltons in Knebworth and tried a 16" jointed cue and 12" jointed cue and 18-18.5oz cues and cues about 20oz. I liked the balance of the 16" cue (medium weight) more. Then I looked at thurston.co.uk and noticed the best Peradon cues were 16" jointed and obviously hand spliced. Then I looked at parriscues.com and noticed almost all his cues were 16" jointed. So I thought if its good enough for them its good enough for me.

I think 16 and 18 inches is more popular. I know that KiethinFrance prefers his cues to be jointed above the splices which is probably around 20-22 inches or so.
