omin or mastercraft which is better, what is your budget for an omin cue?
so this peter hanley sells cues even more expensive than robin, then there is no point of seeing his cue...
No budget really. I've worked enough to save up for a top range cue so money really isn't an issue. I was intending on getting something from T. White, but he hasn't contacted me for almost 5 weeks. I got in touch with Omin and the bloke is really helpful.
Its costing me 560 US all up, so I think just over 600 Aus.
Save up, I'm a uni student and I've managed. No point in getting something low quality from overseas, might as well get something local with all the shipping costs.
why there are backward chervon on the top side, shouldn't all good cues have forward chervon on the top ? need a lesson.
As the ash is not really in your eyeline there are people that do not care what the shaft particularly looks like. Even if you use the chevrons to sight, all that matters are the few nearest the tip.
Wood is a natural material and the best playing piece of ash a cuemaker may have will not neccesarily have the exact pattern of chevrons some people request.
Personally I think non "standard" patterns give a cue character. I know a lot of people have very specific requirements on what they want a shaft to look like, but as trigger has done personally I would leave it up to the cuemaker to pick whatever wood he feels best out for me.
