what is your favorite/prefered join for extensions?
I personally do not care too much as they all do the job.
The disadvantage of the spirolok for me is the big hole in the butt.
The Mike Wooldridge phut joint is nice because the thread is protected in a tube.
For the rest it is all the same for me.
i'm not all convinced about the short spiral ones, used by o'min and robert osberne.
they look.....weak.
wouldnt you agree that the long brass ones used by john parris and craftsman cues seem comfortably convinient and safer ? plus, it doesnt require a lot of twisting action to get it in.
i've never seen a mike mooldridge one except the one on his website. does the butt end joint of the cue come as a solid brass plate join nowadays?

craftsman i can agree. but the parris i cant.
not alot of twisting? do you have any idea how much twisting is involved in parris joint? well in terms of the actual joint not butt joint.
hurts my ears the parris joints lol. the old ones dont make as much noise.
With the Mike Wooldridge cues you are able to use the extension in the shaft section of the cue, not just the butt.
A very useful and sensible idea, particularly for those people that have to play a shot with limited cueing room.
Why more cuemakers haven't adapted this, I don't know...?
