  • Correct. I know nothing about cues which was why I wanted to confine my remarks to the dimensions etc. (see earlier posts by me) but somebody asked me what I think.

Come on Philip, we are all waiting for your reports and pictures. We have two movies planned for this, remember?

Jokes aside, any cue comes with a price. If one thinks it's good value for the money he pays, then it's ok. what's not ok is to treat people to believe the cue is a decent hand spliced cue while it actually is a machine-made painted cue. it's no more than a rack cue hung around all clubs, and to my estimation, it might be worse. For a normal rack cue, it's costs no more than 10 GBP, 8 is more than enough IMO. But this Kevin Sharland cue sells for 100 GBP.

For a hundred quid I got a cue, mini butt, extension and a not too bad case. I will post the dimensions, weights etc. in a couple of days. The splices in the buttare attractively and accurately made. Whether they are done by hand or by machine I do not know and can't say that I actually care! I need to examine the shaft in more detail before I express an opinion there but it is certainly a straight piece of ash with a quite attractive grain.
Hmmm if you don't know the difference between a hand and machine spliced cue your thesis on the cue may well not make it through the viva.
Why not just stick some pics up?

Your ball findings might be more interesting. You could start a new thread for those.

        • I have to say The shaft splices on lk8's cue is rosewood , were hand spliced then painted with black color. Because rosewood isn't black color. The shaft splices on philp's cue is real ebony. hand spliced cue.

there's no reason at all to paint black over rosewood if there is even any splicing on the cue to start with...

I wonder if we should believe anything between you and philip anymore...

at least what we can believe is, Kevin Sharland Maple cues, Silent Knight Ash cues and Kevin147q are all linked together?

I think it is the ultra-rare Chinese tigerwood...

there are Silent Knight ash cues? oh, I just saw one on ebay item 150364594934. mates, if it helps, I like photographing a lot. and there is something I found quite interesting between pictures of the cues from Kevin Sharland and Silent Knight. Both pictures of KS cue and SK cue(wow look at their initials), are taken with the same model of camera, I'm not saying it's the same camera, but what a coincidence! it's Canon Powershot G5. Philip, if you are ever gonna post pics, please, try to avoid using this model. it's a nice cam, i know, but please try another one! cheers.

plus the the SK cue looks so awkwardly painted.

and both KS and SK ads appear on a website www.trademe.com.nz what are the odds!

                            • it's actually when you find out how KS cue sellers use the same email domain for communication... "handmade-cue.com", like how it's the same domain as the silentknight username, which kevin147q tried to registered as a second username, as noticed by the mods on page 2... somehow everything seems to be linked together... lol...
