  • I want to increase the weight of my cue.

Right basically i have a cue and its 18oz and i started trying heavy cues and suddenly i find my cue too light, so i want to increase the weight of my cue but i dont want to go to the hassle of paying £30 and sending it off and wait weeks for it to come back.

a friend of mine has lead wrapped around the butt of his cue and it gives it a nice feel and weight and i was wondering if maybe something like this is purchasable somewhere or if there are any other ways i can increase the weight of my cue myself.

its 3/4 join by the way,

    thanks-

    Malachib.

Lead tape is used in tennis and golf to increase the weight.

Most good tennis or golf shops will have it, or you should check on ebay.

Will totally mess up the look and feel of the cue though! You can maybe use lead tape to decide on the weight to be added, and then get a professional to add it.

Yeah , you wouldn't want to ruin your cue just to avoid paying some GBP.30 , would you ?

p.s Don't send it to Trevor as ram_p did here

that is way out of order !!!!!!!!!!! the guy has made a genuine mistake ,(quite possibly the first time on here) for which he has apologized and some people seem to take great joy from it ,, which is pretty pathetic in my opinion,if you ever manage to get yourself into the position of being a master cuemaker who is renowned the world over dealing with hundreds of cues a year all made to the highest possible quality, i think then you might be in a position to post sarcastic comments for cheap laughs !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

trevor is a top guy and would never deliberately rip anyone off. he even welcomed the critisism

Well , That genuine mistake is enough to put me off from buying or having any future transactions with him and also enough to not to recommend him to any member of the forum .

I'm sure Trevor would be very pleased that I'm not encouraging anyone to buy from him as he is so snowed under by orders and mails that he could not fix a cue in a year . That is what is so out of order

Being a Master cue-maker is no excuse for such shoddy behaviour. Ferrari may produce the worlds best cars but they don't keep their customers waiting for such a long time when they asked for a few weeks , not replying to repeated distressed mails of ram_p . I'd prefer him not to have taken the cue if he was too busy creating masterpieces .

I have all the respect for Trevor's cues but his waiting list and his customer service has certainly put me off . He may create hundreds of great cues and he gets praised a lot for that . He keeps a customer waiting like this he certainly deserves no recommendation

those who know him and have had a cue made by him plus all the forum members dont need a recommendation from you they already know how good his services are. he made 1 mistake and your on his back have you ever dealt with trevor personaly all top cue makers have large waiting lists and i bet they all make cockups now and then but this is the 1st time i have ever heard a complaint about trevor white.

                      cue weight

The problem with taping weight to the butt is, apart from not looking good, the weight can move slightly as you contact the cue ball. This may be very slight but it causes inconsistency as it may move slightly more on a firmer shot, or not.
The makers ensure that any added weight is solid and in the right place. You should get a pro to do it for you, or you will have to drill the wood. - good luck.

some sheet lead and some double sided tape and you can make a piece to fit over the badge to add half an ounce or so for a trial and get a pro fix later

I was lucky enough not to have any dealings with Trevor

Well its great to know that some of you have a had a good experience with Trevor .

Cockups make you lose your some your reputation and credentials while good reviews help you. Forums are a double edged sword . If you are making a customer wait for a year for a repair job you won't be getting any kind words from me .

All top cue-makers have large waiting list and I know that and so did Trevor . Why didn't he tell ram_p that he'll do it it 10 months ? I'm sure ram would appreciate that .

Its very easy to say one cockup , think it form ram's point of view . I don't know how much of a player he is but this "cockup" would have been enough to make a great difference for him this season . He would not have bought a new cue for the time being thinking its only gonna be a few weeks and made do with a rack cue . He would have lost a majority of games and slipped down the rankings to such an exent making it impossible for him to climb up again thereby ruining his career . I'm not saying thats what happened but what you lightly describe as a cockup here and there can have disastrous results

Not repying to rams mails is even worse . HOW COULD YOU KEEP A PERSON WATING FOR SOO LONG AND NOT EVEN REPLYING TO HIM ?? But as Trevor says he "forgot" . forgot to open only ram's mails or does he suffer from some form of selective amnesia ?

Did ram have to post his suffering on twelve and half thousand member strong forum to get a response of some actual use from your revered Trevor ?

I must say this is very disappointing for me and Malachi-b , how would you feel if your cue back after nearly a years of frustration and anger and someone on the forum describes it as a little "cockup" ?

It happened its a regrettable incident, Trevor has admitted as much and tried to make as much amends as he can.
How many other companies can claim so few complaints from so many orders?

This comment in particular "I was lucky enough not to have any dealings with Trevor"
This might imply to new forum members that Trevor White is an untrustworthy person which, an opinion I am sure is not shared with the majority of forum members and anyone that has ever had dealings with Trevor.

Now yes Trevor has admitted his mistake and offerered to attempt to make up for it. We all make mistakes and as long as Trev learns from his mistakes and doesn't let it happen again we can all move on.

To bring this back on topic the badge idea might work in the mean time but you really should get the cue professionally altered if you want some extra weight.
