Hi Unclevit, These cues look very fancy. For me, I think it is ok for the reverse design Although it looks strange at first sight but will get used to it later on. The most important thing is the quality of the cue maker and shaft. I had found "Jim" over the net before via tarad dot com. Another guy that I found is "Saeng" cue maker. As I am living in Phuket, I don't have chance much to visit their workshop. It is good if you can let us know later.
andaman : Last Asian Summit I went to Phuket with our Arintarat26 Special Force. No chance to play 6-red with you. Quality of this cue is the 'SAME' with Omin. Saeng is also a well known maker if out of Bangkok area, like Jim. Jim's Mom is very friendly, and gives me the best cost ever. Will see if I can visit them this weekend, hopefully Saturday

That was very sad... 6 reds would be very fun game. Hope to hear from you again about the cue.:snooker:
(3rd from Left) I met a guy at a club just lately, and he owns this Orange one (in maple shaft). He allowed me to play a few frames with it. Comparing to my recent Omins and M/Cs, this Jim's Siam Cue played as good as any of them, though the length of 57.5 is too long for me, while the 18.5 oz. is heavier than my current's. Finish is good, and I like the balance of the 'forward weight' it gives. He paid some US$90 pick up for it. Decided to have some 12-splices (US$150 pick up) for my private collections. My skill is not that professional, and my comments are from my own experience (Forget some of the ackward butt designs in the pictures, please. I think he needs a good designer to help him on Color and Wood matchings )

Thanks for the pics. I like the cue 3th from the right. And you mentioned that the cue is forward balanced which is something I alway look for in a cue (maple shaft too!!).
Looking for your further reports on Jim's cues after your visit to their factory.
The butt splice does not seem to be lined up with the arrows on the shaft on some of the cues--may be it is the angle of the camera? I am known to see things in photos that are not actually there.

poolqjunkie : I have not seen the rest, besides the Orange one that I played, which has beautiful splice works. But if the splices are not lined up, butt and shaft, I think it will be sold much cheaper, and as ready-made, not customs
How could these cues be sold as custom made when customers are picking what they like from a ready made batch of cues?
Anyway, what I was getting at was that the secondary splices and the ebony splices do not seem to line up.
For example, the second cue from the left, a Burwat Champion style cue, it seems that the secondary facing is not in line with the ebony splices. So is the forth cues from the left.
But may be it is just the angle, I am not sure.

poolqjunkie : I think they took the pictures with a mix of ready-made and custom. Me for instance, will not buy off-line splices butt and shaft. All of the cues, as understood, are all sold quite sometimes ago. Picture is just something they show me on the butt splices. From what I heard, they also supply ready-made cues, without badges,to UK brands too. But don't want to dig down deep. I already placed my order for two 3/4's, one in ash, one in maple, similar to Omin's Union and Universe versions (but woods changed - don't know if they can find me good snakewood in time or not). From the Orange one that I played, I am quite happy with their quality, though I still don't see my customs

Yes, they did. The Universe one, with snakewood replaced the burr, is now with my nephew (he said he wants it for a birthday present - look like I am not getting it back )
i have tried e-mailing the maker some days back, but till now i have yet to recieve any reply from them.
Is there any otherway to contact them?
I was hoping to custom another simple cue from them.
I will be talking to them on having somebody to do the job of answering emails in English. I don't think they can speak English. Blank badge cues are picked up by locals who are UK brands rep living here in Bangkok. It's a secret that they won't let anybody knows 'who'. Their house phone # is 662-810-7576 if this can help
Sanman : They are on the edge of Bangkok, very near to Nakorn Pathom, next province from Bangkok. On the other side of Omin and M/C. About 40 kms. from Central Bangkok, I think
