I tried emailing them also and no reply. I guess one would have to find a Thai contact to liase with... Maybe this could be a side business for you Unclevit?

Perhaps I should do that. Anyhow, let me visit them first, then I will decide again. But only to help, not as a side business. I don't want to make money from this, otherwise my wives will kill me. The profit, no matter how much, won't cover my extra time on such project, travel back and forth to their place, which is quite far from my house. Please keep watching this forum for my decision. I called up my friend and learned that they don't speak English

            unclevit:

I also tried email 3 days ago but haven't received a reply as yet. When you go to the factory can you see if they have an ordering website and also if they will mail or ship a custom ordered cue overseas (like to Canada)?

At those prices I would like to order 2 cues with cases and extensions, one ash and one maple and see how they play.

If they don't have a website maybe after your posts here you could try and encourage them to get someone available who can understand and respond to emails in English? Also, payment methods might help...like PayPal, Mastercard, Visa, wire transfer into their account.

I've ordered cues from China using wire transfer method and although it costs me up front the money is there in one business day.

            Thanks,
            Terry

              Terry :
              1. Yes. I planned to talk to them on email handling person. They are not that much concerned on the case, as their hands are always full of orders, Quality vs Price.
              2. Perhaps they could open up a paypal account which is safe for both sides.
              3. Shipping out of Thailand would be a new thing for them too.
              4. Will update through this web on the results. See my other Title in this forum too. Might help.
              Tks for input,

My Trip to Siam Cue Place

Since I will be visiting Jim very very soon. Don't know yet what day as my current schedules are very tight. By the way, their place is quite far and with bad traffic from time to time (would consider the same driving distance from Hyde Park to Norfolk, half way). I may help some of you :
                1. To get the quotes. Very quickly, please send photo of the cue you want done to my email address : unclevit at yahoo dot com
                2. Photo that will show the exact design. Please do not assume that the makers will read your mind or try to understand your point (I used to experience that myself even with Omin's people). Photo with explanations written on would be alright. Beware on woods requested. They don't stock foreign woods that much (they mostly used local woods, but exotic types - similarly to Omin & Mastercue). Cues they make for European Brands, woods are normally supplied by the brand agents.
                3. They have good Ash and good Maple, that is no doubt.
                4. For your information, please see my 2 cues photo in this forum. They are asking US$330 net, pick up, from me (net for 2 cues total. 180+150). I gave them my small pieces of snakewood that I stock for quite sometimes ago too.
                5. I never shipped any cue out of Thailand, so the shipment must be done by them. They have to find somebody to do the job of answering emails and shipping if they want foreign business.
                6. Your photo of cue should have your name, email address, and mailing address on top of page. I will do print outs in color (complimentary ) and show to Jim for his quotes/comments. Please remember that they stock mostly on local exotic woods. And that their badge might not give you any good re-sell value afterwards, but quality wise, I was confirmed by many pros here that their cues are tournament grade too

This is all I can do to help. Not as sidelines, so don't expect any much help from me. My wives runs business stores, and they won't be happy that I run around working on the cue job (one head against 3, I hope you will understand ). Will try to help as long as the opportunity allows me. Please understand my worry here

No, not a 'famous' culture especially with Thais. It was all my faults back then, when working with advertising agencies, and banks. Now I am suffering as they join hands and always against me, if thinking out of their thoughts

Do they at O'min use CNC to make their cues, or are they mostly hand planed?
