I played with the same cue from 1969 - 1985 and since then have had about 100 different cues. I shudder to think how much my 'cue addiction' has cost me but most of the cues have given me pleasure so thats what matters.
QUOTE=ste bed;413521]going thru my list quite a few of them where just stop gaps(£50/£150) while i was waiting forcues to be made which then i just flogged them off on ebay. going thru your list crispian every 1 of them is a top class custom made cue costing what (300/700) i have seen the 1 your selling on ebay at this moment theres no way i would be letting that 1 go.[/QUOTE]
Trev is busy making me a new one !
i am getting it made 1" longer as my long potting is suffering at the moment,
and like many others i am serching for that "magic cue", but have most likely had it, and sold it on ebay, thinking the next one will be the one!
ha ha what a fool.
I've had about 8 cues in 10 years, none of them fancy or hand made.
I spent 4 seasons (2 years) trying to find a cue to my likeing and went through about 4 during those seasons (different weights, joins and tip size's).
I eventually found one and some s** pinched it out of my case and started playing a game with it. I didn't realise and when he lost the game he threw it on the ground and stood on it .
It was a 18.5oz ash 5 peice with centre and 3/4 joins, i got it off ebay for about £40 including case. It wasn't exactly a looker but it played brilliantly.
The one i am currently using is a bce 18oz ash 3/4 join. It's not my favorite cue but i'm still playing ok with it. Plus i'm too tight to splash out on another cue as i'm saving up for a decent hand made one.
8 for me, my 7th was a cue craft Sherwood, which had a nasty accident shame as i loved that cue and had my 1st ton with it. Got a Peradon Canterbury now, much better than the cue craft for me
Got to say Thomas Mc 147 - i dont believe at all you've owned a JP & a TW !!
It was only the other day you were looking for a cue for £110 !!!! (and were thinking of buying a Peradon Edwardian for about £60 !!)
If you have owned said cues, whats happened to all the money you surely got when selling them ?? [nice to dream tho eh]
