  • New cue website

    Ive finally managed to get off my ass and put together a dedicated cue site.

    http://thecueguru.weebly.com/

    Please have a lokk, its still early days and it will grow and grow. I have over 800 pics to sort through of the nicest and rarest cues ever.

    I have also put up a 'readers cues' section, email me a pic and description of your cue and I will post it on the site.

    Im hoping to build up a database of pictures of old and new cues, for reference and inspiration.

            I was planning to make such a site, user profiles, cue maker profiles etc. But at the moment I am to busy making other sites. But I'll keep an eye on your site!

            (My last project was a site for a tennisschool)

              Do you think you are able to make a site where users can create their own profiles etc?

              I emailed KeithInFrance couple of months ago to brainstorm about a cue site.

              Some ideas....
              * Users can upload their own cues
              * Cue makers have a seperate profile
              * Info about tips
              * Cue buy guide
              * How cues are made
              * Cue of the month

              You made your site with a free service... so I guess you do not really know how to build an 'interactive' site. (php - mysql)

              Please feel free to contact me ( wim at wootweb dot be ) for more ideas!

                      To be honest I didnt really want to go along the lines of an interactive site, I think this forum fills that gap very nicely. I really wanted to have a site that showed more than just 1 picture of an old cue. When I started collecting cues it was so hard to find information and more importantly pictures of all of the different versions and thats what I want the site to be.
                      I have thought about a cue maker profile for each of the main guys but in all honesty they all have there own sites which do all of that for them. A cue buyer guide would be very difficult as buying a cue is such a personal thing. I dont want to force my ideals and experiences on people, again this forum gives opportunity for that.
                      I am going to have a 'readers cue' page where everyone can send in a pic and spec and I will hopefully build that into an interesting part of the site once it takes off.

                          great site perhaps you could inclued valuations for these classic cues so we will know what they are worth.

                            Alright, fair enough. As I already started my project, I am going to finish it. Best of luck with your site mate!

                              Val;uations are something I have considered putting on the site but it would be really difficult to kepe them a) accurate and b) up to date. The prices on ebay which is the best guide seem to fluctuate on a monthly basis.
