  • Advice on sending a cue abroad

Hi there, I'm about to ship my cue abroad and would like to gather some advices here for doing that in the best way.

I've got a 1piece cue craft aluminium case and wonder if that would be strong enough to protect the cue, with a few layer of bubble wrap?

I think that the length of the package with bubble wrap would be 160cm. I checked in Parcelforce that the limit of the package dimension is length not exceeding 150cm. Will they accept package with length 160cm?

How do cue makers usually send a 1pc cue (with a case) abroad and what kind of shipping service do they use?

    cheers

If your sending your cue with the case, bubble wrap will be ok. If your sending the cue on its own, wrapping the cue in bubble wrap and sending it inside a strong plastic tube is good.

I would post the same. Sent a cue recently to Canada using them. Left me 4:30 the Monday afternoon, arrived in Canada Wednesday afternoon. Good thing is you can see exactly where it is. Standard UK delivery is £8.20, to Canada for Example was about £40. Never ever use Parcel Force. If your cue was a 1 piece, it wont be for long!

One other thing. If your sending you cue outside the EU you need to print off 4 copies of the customs invoice and sign them all. With Interparcel they will come and pick it up for you, far better than going to the post office and being told they cant take anything over a certain size.

I had an argument the last time I sent my cue (in this country like) it was right on the edge of special delivery limits so they wanted me to send it parcel force. After I went mad and said I had sent it three times before and had it 4 times in the post they let me send it. That was in a tube not a case mind so that was 150mm. But they gave me the impression parcel force would take bigger.

I've heard it's good to wrap it in a bright colour too.
