I look around everywhere trying to find different pieces of this and that. Im sure most cuemakers have played with so many woods and in a way I still think the basic set of woods (Ebony, Cocobolo, Olivewood, Snakewood etc) are the way to go. But its as much as an interest as making cues. If I find something nice, I test it before I would splice it. If its useless for a cue then i make it into something else. If it works well then ill make a design for it and make it up. But I must admit I have had to stop getting timber as it got a little out of control.
My favorite piece is a block of Brazilian Rosewood that is just beautiful. Shame it is illegal to trade
The second pic, black and white ebony front splice right? How about the third pic? You need to tell everytime you post pic here. It is nice to know some "unknown" woods here.
