I don't usually post on forums, but since I'm a British guy who lives in Beijing and uses a Chinese cue, thought I'd give me opinion.
I use an LP cue and although i haven't ever owned a JP or TW cue, i love my LP, wasn't expensive, less than 100 quid and i think it plays beautifully, though i don't know the actual retail price, i got quite a large discount on it because the club owner bought it and most snooker/pool clubs in BJ get a large discount on cues they buy, not looking to change my cue anytime soon although a lot of the people in my club seem to think JP is still the best and want me to buy some JP cues for them the next time i'm back visiting in the UK and bring them back over.
Also i have tried using most of the Asian cues LKT, O'min and a few others but i couldn't get comfortable with them and i think LP has the best value for money. Also the Snooker club owner owns the most expensive LP on the market, and although i find it a little bit heavy, its a beautiful cue to look at.
Also reading the earlier posts about the gap between rich and poor in china being huge, Chinese people will spend over 3000 rmb on a cue ( 300 quid ) without even blinking if they have the money, the rich in BJ have more money than sense, the snooker club owner in my club seems to buy a new cue every month or two, and i can see why some of the LKT cues are soo expensive because people will actually buy them. anyway hope that helps somebody
