Also what woods are used and what types of veneers? Are they oil finished? Laquer/varnish? Other?

    many thanks

                • bad cues

like everything else thats made in china , china cues are bad quality u can buy them in bulk for about 27 pounds each. the ash is not good and the cues will bend in time its cheaper ash they use not good northern american or canadian ash, they stain the ash to make it look good pay anything more than 30 pounds for a cue from china or thailand and ur mad, its like buying a new pair of shoes u want quality you have to pay for it. for instance dunns cues are made in china i should know i bought one a year ago they made a mistake it go posted to me from china or thialand and they left the reciet for the cue in the box it came in the price was 27 dollars but i was charged 150, I HAVE EVEN SEEN FAKE GOLF CLUBS from china or thialand they look real look the same as the real thing titliest, calloway ect ect but they are bad bad quality would not buy anything else from china or thialand got stung once thats enought give me a good quality english hand made cue anyday

You can't say everything from the far east is poor quality. There are some very good cues from Thailand in particular. Take the GBL range from Greenbaize which are supposed to be very nice cues, then there's Omin, Mastercue etc.
Dunns have always had mixed reviews on here though.

Are you trying to say the likes of Uncle Thai, Omin and Mastercue cues which are all made in Thailand also bad quality?

As far as I concern Omin and UT using the highest quality Canadian ashwood / maple.
                        My cueing sucks

                          • Heard that many UT and Omin Cues were sold in Western Countries with different badges. Cheaper stuff does not mean the quality is bad..

                            Cheers

                            • are you sure they are not trying to reduce your custom charge? They did the same on my cue; so i need not to pay custom charge. If they put full amount on the invoice, surely i would be charged a lot in VAT.

Agree with you, RGCirencester. I think it depends on 'who made it' rather than the nationalities. I see tons of good notebooks and PCs that were stamped 'Made in China' or 'Made in Taiwan' or 'Made in Singapore' ....... I might be wrong
