how to protect cue in winter?

Hi guys
I live in about 25-30 minutes walk from a local pool hall.And cold canadian winter is coming! =))) So my question is:
HOW TO PROTECT MY CUE IN WINTER???

leave it behind the counter so you dont have to take it outside as much???

and the obvious.... get a decent case

put a warm scarf and hat on it.....only joking.....when you get home wipe it down with a dry towel, this will rmove any dampness..

In what way does it need protecting? Buy a decent aluminium etc. case for it and surely it is fine?

what do you mean by saying "decent" case?
I got a leather case... but i don't think that it'll protect my cue if it's -30 outside!!!!

If you're walking to the club for 30 mins in extremely cold conditions then maybe try wrapping a fleece blanket around your cue case.

Finally someone with a sensible suggestion... I liked the idea of the hat and scarf though lol!

You could finish the look off with a hat and scarf.

Maybe you too could wear a matching hat and scarf.

Match the scarf to the splices on your cue

On a more serious note, do you think a leather case is better than an aluminium one? OK, so its not in heavy rain or if you drop it etc. But it would do a good job against cold (coupled with hat and scarf ofc) id have thought.

thats not a stupid as it sounds get 2 scarfs stich them together around the edges so it makes a pocket inside leave 1 top open then slide the cue and case inside bobs your uncle.

leather will actually keep it warmer than aluminium due to the properties of the material....

plus if its minus 30 outside as soon as you go to open it your fingers would stick to an ali case...

Being Canadian (I thought it said Russia on the original posting) and used to cold weather I have seen guys with 'cue socks' made of old felt from a table and they slide their cues into these and then into their (usually aluminium) case which also has foam rubber on the inside for more insulation.

Only problem, wear gloves when you carry an aluminium case as your hands will stick to it if it's cold enough.

My only other suggestion would be to either jog to the club to shorten the exposure or else get a car, warm it up and then drive to the club - repeat when leaving for home.

By the way, it isn't the cold that will warp and ruin the cue, it's the moisture from condensation if it gets cold and then you bring it into a warm room. If that happens, keep wiping it down as suggested earlier here.
