Only problem, wear gloves when you carry an aluminium case as your hands will stick to it if it's cold enough.
My only other suggestion would be to either jog to the club to shorten the exposure or else get a car, warm it up and then drive to the club - repeat when leaving for home.
By the way, it isn't the cold that will warp and ruin the cue, it's the moisture from condensation if it gets cold and then you bring it into a warm room. If that happens, keep wiping it down as suggested earlier here.

I am a certified IBSF Master Coach, certified Class C referee (if 'C' is the first one) and a player who would like to play better, so my main student is myself. My coach is Nic Barrow.
In January I'm going over to the UK to get my IBSF Examiner's certificate and also a Senior Coach certificate from Terry Griffiths Matchroom Snooler Lab (it's an EASB qualification, but as I ain't in Europe I just get the certificate and don't have to prove I'm not a child molester by getting a police letter).
I'm also getting a full day with Nic to see if i can 'tune up' my technique a bit as I'm getting almost daily centuries in practice (not counting the line-up, just a normal frame of snooker) but haven't cracked it in matches as yet, although 50-60 breaks are quite common.

Sounds like you are all having fun with this one!
My recent aquisition is some lams skins, tanned an washed. I am in the process of making a double cue case for both my break cue and playing cue. The case is constructed out of ash, fully yahct varnished to seal it then lined on the inside with the lambs skins. I am sure for certain this would keep you cue warm and dry The lid of the case seals to the bas by a rubberised seal like draught excluder for doors. I should have this one completed in about 3 weeks.
If you are coming to the UK i could be persuaded to make you one for the right price if you are serious.
If not good luck with your quest!
