Info re: Sheridan cue?

A friend of mine has just acquired a Sheridan 3/4 cue. No one over here has heard of this cue and I have never seen the name come up in any threads. It looks to be an older cue, ebony butt, hand spliced maple shaft. It has a brass badge that reads SHERIDAN ENGLAND.

Any info(value, quality, etc.) would be appreciated.
