What type of finish do Stamford cues have ADR? I've always thought they didn't really have a finish.

They use a blend of oils , which is a bit of a trade secret, and probably unique to individual cuemakers who use their own blends. (Linseed, danish, olive, tung etc etc). No harm in asking though, but Paul wouldn't tell me
Stamford are class cues though, would definitely be top 3 in Uk of cues to go for now IMO, and Paul will always take the time to answer his mobile

For the finish, it is not as good as i had in my mind. I asked Stamford for the cure oil, the answer is just regular Linseed oil (it does not necessary to be bad).
I bought a Liquid Gold from Mike last week. It also does not have the effect i expected. It does not improve the look, but it does affect the feel in a +ve way
The cue is short. I fully agree. That is the main reason I buy this Made To Measure. It is not my first cue, i know exactly what i need.
For me, the cue is perfect except the finish (look). I was expecting a better finish. Anyway, the finish does not really matter for me. Stamford does try his best on the look and satify my request on Red, Orange, and yellow veneer at the very late stage. It looks good. I said it is not perfect because I see some black colour on the veneer.
I find the balance really suite me and the feel is good. It is what it does matter. I believe standard cure, anyone who works on this business for 2 years can make (otherwise, they are stupid). I understand my cue is not standard at all because of the lenght (I am thinking all cues, except house cues from the club, are not standard). Stamford did a excellent job. :-> probably my spec was good. The end result is very good. I did not specify the balance in the spec simply because i did not know (I could not find any information on the relation between cue lenght and balance), but it ended up nicely. They are just professional.
In general, i am very happy with my stamford cue :->.
For communication, it is not as good as my own standard, but, what do you expect. The fact is that they alway pick up the phone (compare to others who do not pick up the phone, or they dont have a phone number at all(sorry Mike, i first apprach you)). What i did is that I sent an email and after one day I gave stamford a call, they answered the phone and always gave me an answer in email within two hours after the call.
Finally, I am not fully satifies with with stamford because of the look (not important) and size of the case (important). But I did get what is important - a good cue.
