I have no doubt you feel that your cue is perfect and a great value for your money and I think that is great. Thanks for sharing.

I just have a couple questions as I think about this: If a cue maker is really popular because he has a great reputation, and he can charge say 150 GBP for a cue with a line up, why would he charge two cues for 60 GBP? If a cue maker is so well known for his cues' perfect playability, how come he can complete a cue so quickly? Isn't there no one else ordering?

Not trying to start some kind of flame here, just wondering...as I believe you do get what you pay for.

      Can you run faster too?

I think you've got some funny ideas about British people.
      Sweet Chariot ??????
      Britisher??????

Don't Thai cues sometimes have joint and splice problems. Don't know about Thai cues generally though; only heard about probs with Master cues on here. Played with a few Master cues and seemed to be nice cues.

What I said about cue for everybody if you like it good luck etc I meant.
Noticed the song swing low sweet chariot being sung every time england wins at something. Haven't heard it a lot recently though
'britishers' was a common word for the british during their occupation of south africa. Was a name given by afrikaaners here. Thats why I did say i am not sure if britisher is right.

last time I ran a hundred meters was in 11.1sec (that was some 15 years back though) which was not shabby but that being said no one could force me to run against my will.

      Anyway Truce

I don't wish to argue as we are all here to appreciate snooker

        It's just England Rugby.
British is the other countries too. Tend to lean to Ireland at that. More of a league man anyway.
So you can run faster than was was around 12.5 about 15 years ago too.

          Good question

          here is the answer

the two omins were machine spliced. The one that I preferred was a rack cue that was old and was weathered and was outside Omins shop. He refurbished it and put in a new splice and the cue came out like new. It is dead straight and is not one of his new cues. Both the cues I chose came to a shade more than 60 dollars(not pounds) and like I said they play excellently. Machine spliced but in terms of playability they are top notch.

My handmade cues were two months in the making and I was given them two weeks late as well. And to put your question intom perpsective about affordability lets say that you do shopping in thailand. Lets say clothing. I don't know about Britain but here in south africa all sizes except for really outsized clothing is the same price because here the labour costs are significant. In thailand however labour is cheap and you would pay more for larger sizes of clothing. So i guess that a person making cues would add his labour costs relative to the average income earned in thailand which would be significantly less than the average income of britain.

to summarize what i am saying

In britain and maybe elsewhere the major cost of a cue production would be labour cost. In thailand it would be the cost of material.
I hope that answers your question. I believe I got more than what i paid for relative to where I come from. And I started this thread with the hope of introducing options to people. Good competetions make for better pricing and better products. That is the unwritten law of business. And since most of the members here talk a lot about cues from Britain then it was only appropriate to rate these cues i bought alongside those that I have had experience with from britain.

They said which car maker doesn't make an ugly car I said 'Alfa'
Then Jez agreed and talked about Alfa that but said the new Mito was minging (This was on the telly).
I'd seen one (it was not released yet) so I said it wasn't minginging etc.
And he came over and was copying my accent and it went on (this was cut though; knew it would be he really railroaded someone after me so I new that would be left in.)

              We rock at rugby

anyway i get confused with Uk and britain and then 5 nations. I do know Ireland scotland england wales and northern ireland. Met a nice irish guy in thailand. Played a few games with him. Won a round of him which he drank since I don't consume alcohol. After that he was not interested in winning

I live in the north of England so Rugby League is much bigger than Union where I live.

Only watch rugby union if something big like world cup is on. I actually go for South Africa if they are playing anyone but Ireland and England. I've got loads of South African relatives (they have mostly moved to Britain in recent years though)
The Irish are world leaders at drinking and poker so as long as you don't take them on at those you'll be all right.

                  well

i was thinking of pretty thai girls before i clicked in on this thread.

well i think aston martin, lambo, ferraris are the same.they are supercars its just that they cater for different people with different personalities and niche markets.well if u fancy something with class, elegant, luxury, get the aston, most aston buyers dont go for speed and handling and whatsover,if they would thats when ferrari comes in,F1 style driving, meant for racing fanatics.and lamborghinis,is where you pick up the girls

as for cues.master and omins are mass manufacturers of good quality cues although they provide some custom made orders,so does peradon and BW.However, woolrigdge and trevor white cater to a niche market involving customers with preferences of custom cues.actually all cues are made the same way,its the wood that makes the difference, and the craftsmanship of the splicing, and it actually plays the same.so you cant possibly compare a good thai cue and a good u.k cue.but of course you can compare a good and a bad cue.it all boils down on personal preferences.i like master cues, and i love trevor white's splicings.

When you buy a performance equipment you buy it for just that. The Beemer is normally aspirated but pushes out more horses whereas the jag needs a turbo or supercharger. Not the same mate. As for the Aston. thats all it got. looks. can't keep up with the porsches or the ferrari or lambo. So what are you buying. Performance or looks.

maybe i am in the unusal position of actually aving owned cars like this but really you are a fool. most people i know would take the jag over the bmw every time - and i currently own the bmw - an aston martin is as fast as anyone ever needs to go and it sounds amazing plus people don't look at you like you are a merchant banker the way they do if you drive a lambo.
