  • Mast Cues

    Hi,

Seen a Trevor White(Mast Cue) on ebay (used to be Dominic Dale's).

Were mast cues made to the same high standards as Trevors current cue's?

What do you think to the design?

Do all trevor's cues have a Lacquered butt section?

Are/were there problems with the old base joint Trevor used to use?

    Cheers.

It's just the old badge he used to use. The cue will be perfect.

Well worth buying if you can, and no lacquer or varnish involved.

RG, I know it is completely off-topic here but I wonder about the right pronounciation of "Cirencester".
Is it one of the "irregular" ones like "Wooster" or is it as simple as "siren sester"?
I could not find it on the web.
I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

As that ad says, the cue was made perhaps 14 years ago for Dominic, to his design and request. It is a bit of an odd one that, but that's Dominic for you.

It has inlaid dots of pink ivorywood in the ebony butt, which get smaller as they go further up the cue. If the butt has been lacquered, it will have been done by Dominic and not by me. I have lacquered some cues I've made at special request, but very few.

The cue has a very old joint in it, which is a smaller thread then the current type I use. Also, the joint for the extensions is the same type as Craftsman cues uses, which will accept my current extension fittings, but isn't a perfect fit, being a little loose.

I have no idea what this cue performs like, as if I tried it, it would have been years ago, but having said that, for anyone who is interested, the shaft is really really excellent.

I will never make another like it, that's for sure.

It is a pity. I was considering to order the negative version from you with pink ivory butt and ebony inlays...

just wondering when did the practice of weight stamping cues die out and why ???
