  • Which one?

All the sudden, there seem to be lots of positive remark of Chinese and Thai cues coming from a selected few new Asian members on this forum.

Why dont we do a poll here to see what most people here would rather spend their money on, shall we?

    1) For 200 GBP, what cue will you buy?

    2) For 300- 400 GBP, what cue will you buy?

    3) For over 500 GBP, what cue will you buy?

    4) If money is no object, what cue will you buy?

    Thank you.

For under 200, I will go with a MW shark.
For under 400, I will likely get a simple cue from TW or MW
    For under 500, same thing.
If I can spend more, will get some rare antique cues.
I dont think I will get a LK.T or UT or anything like that to be honest.
For under 100 I will get a Kevin Sharland

For under 200, MW shark for the best playing cue in this budget, but personally I would probably buy something with a design from Mastercraft or WelshpoolTrading... With Tulipwood... Wait I already did that
For under 400, Dan the man!!! Used to be Robin as I love his badge!!! I'll have a tot cue with Robins badge on it
Over 500 Mike Wooldridge or Trevor, Probably not Trevor due to the long wait though
Money no Object I would buy one from every maker of course!!!

LOL pooljunkie, i like how you answer your own question by being the first poster
for that i respect you brotha!! so thats why im gonna write a long respnse
          bear with me.

im strictly an ebony cue person, so i will use the price that i have seen, all from the cuemakers' website.

          1) For 200 GBP, what cue will you buy?
          - Robin Cook ebony butt 240gbp
i've ordered a cue from him. we've all seen his work before, his work speaks for itself./ this 240gbp doesnt just cover the cue, but rather, his customer service. i have never seen anyone replying emails so promptly with such professionalism.

          2) For 300- 400 GBP, what cue will you buy?
          - tony wilshaw, ebony butt cue 295gbp
i have ordered a cue from him before, having seen his work for my playing buddy.
i have emailed him. tony is not the quickest to respond emails i reckon. but his advisory service. i have personally called him to talk about my cue. he was down right honest, about the technical bits and took the time to speak further in detail.

          3) For over 500 GBP, what cue will you buy?
          - mike wooldridge DEFINITELY
his work speaks for it all. i never have personally emailed mike before. my best friend, who got a cue from him, showed me his email convos with mike. this guy has character :P i get the impression that he doesnt give a damn about the world, but his cues/work.

          4) If money is no object, what cue will you buy?
          - trevor white
i once emailed him about a possible cue order. very good value for money. despite the slow responses, his answers are honest and candid.

I'd like to introduce a dark horse though.
          - Uncle Thai (reccomended by unclevit)
I've seen pictures of his work on this forum. His ash selection and handcrafts certainly has a very personal touch. He is quick too. Looking forward to more stuff from him on this forum

i introduced UT to my friend is soon to receive a cue from him.

ah. i get what you mean
BUT the question didnt say anything about "under"
by "For" i assumed that it meant "around that", since the next price is 300

Under 200 - MW shark, or maybe try a Master cue or GBL that's been recommended by Stu Green or ADR, or custom cue from WPT/Omin/Uncle Thai just to satisfy my curiosity.

                    200 - 300 - A nice collectable cue, Burwatt Champ etc.

                    300 - 400 Tony Wilshaw, Dave Coutts

Over 400 - Mike Wooldridge or if time is no object, Trevor white.

                      mmmm.....good thread pooljunkie!!!!!
                      let me think....
                      1. For 200 I'd probably go for Mastercraft or Omin
                      2. For 300-400 I'd try one of the AURORA cues (Vancoover,Canada).Recommended by Terry Davidson
                      3. For 500 definetly Trevor White or Mike Wooldridge
4.If money is no object.....Yeah...Probably ONE FROM EACH CUEMAKER! ( I wish..... )

Idea for money no object cue... Buy a wooldridge shark... then send it off to trevor to have a splice (with badge) put on top... Then send to Robin to have a splice (with badge) put on the bottom or the cue, then do the sides with say Dan and Dave Coutts... Now you have a Mike cue with 4 other cuemakers badges on it... And you'll be the talk of the town

                              UPDATE!!!!

Starting from 200 up to money is no subject there is only one thing for me:

A wonderful cue from the sensational Dan Shelton, aka as totlxtc.

I have no idea why that became so important for me to tell that here...
I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...
