I realize not a lot of people are showing interest in getting a Hunt and Osbourn...I wonder why. They certainly make some very top notch cues.

my wild guess is that people are subconsiously consious of:
                        1. h&o has been more than busy, reaching it production capacity
                        2. a possibility of compromised quality (Added with point 1, it implies a long wait combined with compromised quality.)
                        3. reviews of h&o is this forum has not been its highest, or has not been deeply reviewed as the accuerate cues
                        4. there is nothing special about the badges. in fact, it may be seen old school, too tacky with just a plastic plate on top of a potentially cheap piece of paper.
                        5. like parris cues, h&o is too prevalent, nothing particularly outstanding, as seen from the fact that no one here has mentioned parris cues or has outstanding appreciation for his cues too

I am kind of agree with you...and here is my opinion (I might be wrong):-

People prefer to buy cue from the cuemaker himself, i.e. MW, TW, Dan, UT etc etc because they give their "100%" involvement when making the cue. Under the H&O or JP brands, it is likely the cue will be made by their employees (most of the time) because they are mass production cuemakers. That's a big different.

I think people now are tend to get their cue specially made by the cuemaker's skills/touch, and not relying to the BRANDING for the sake of the quality itself.

I absolutely agree that it is preferrableto buy from a cue maker directly.
But Hunt & Osborne are just the two people: Will Hunt and Robert Osborne. They have a quite small workshop in a rebuilt garage.
And especially Will Hunt is a cue maker legend. So no mass production there.
I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

So, you folks consider H&O a mass production company?

I am always under the impression that Will Hunt is one of the most skilled cue maker alive, and Robert Osbourn makes a heck of a cue...but of course I could be wrong....

Has anyone been to their shop and saw a lot of people mass producing cues?

I know they do not usually make very fancy cues but their craftsmanship in my opinion is very solid and well executed. At least all the ones I have seen are top class well constructed cues.

                              Very interesting comment...

John Parris is another great cue maker in my opinion. A lot of people on this forum have very high regard for him and his work, me being one of these people.
