Unclevit is such a nice person to deal with. No doubt about that. I am relieve to know that you are happy with your cue made by UT. What else we can say, right? As Unclevit said, UT is the guru for most of Omin's cuemakers.
      Just a word of advice
A good shaft may not necessarily look nice
If you get both then Good luck.
I left the decision to UT and he gave me theses two shafts and although the chevrons are not exactly equally apart the shaft is excellent in terms of playability. Stiff and has a nice feel to it when hitting the cue ball
UT took more than two weeks longer than he originally quoted me for completion but it was well worth the wait.

Still, talk to Unclevit. Maybe he can make a plan with UT with respect to shafts.
      Unclevit is a great guy.
Took me to Omin when I was there

My next project may involve a maple shaft.
      One piece.

In conclusion I know many people from this forum have now owned a UT cue and I have still to hear a bad thing about these cues. In any aspect.

Our first priority is of course the high quality shaft in terms of playing ability. The beauty comes second, which is the bonus we are looking forward, too. That is why we gave him such a timeline. We don't like rushing things and we don't like to give both Unclevit+UT too much pressure.

Also, we just let the old man decide+do whatever he feel best for our cues. That's a very common thing we all have.

hope u get what you want and as for the old man he is a bit of an eccentric so he will do the work well or he won't give it to you.

Craftsman classic cues are a good bet for your price range, I have a victor cue and would sing its praises to anyone who asks.
