Regardless of its characteristics, its too similar in colour to the shaft

maybe i can do one with either
a) ash shaft with maple splice
b) maple shaft with olivewood splice
c) ash shaft with curly maple (the one that has horizontal lines across the splice)

Maybe with a very thin ebony veneer under it as a kind of frame for the olive wood.

How about Ebony butt with 4 olivewood splices over white & blue veneers.

Im not a particularly big fan of olivewood either, but i like the look of this cue
