    hey Unclevit,

    i was just wondering is cocobolo wood available in thailand?
    and if it is, does Uncle Thai use it for butt wood?

      knox : thanks for asking. In fact, World has similar woods from continent to continent, simply the local names are different. See the picture of the butt wood attached (I hope the original owner will allow me to do this ). It's called 'Red Patterned PaYoong Wood' or in some timbers its pattern and color will look very similar to 'Red Patterned PraDoo Wood' (PraDoo wood tends to have a slight orange color too) . Looks similar to Cocobolo, and some pieces will even look better. So when we don't import Cocobolo (sending a piece here, with some 30% import tax, make the total cost too high) we always recommended this PaYoong Wood, and none of them ever complained. Hope this helps.
