i sent a message out to my shop members wishing them merry xmas, and here's a reply i got back:

Just to inform you: please don't wish "merry christmas" to me, because this Christmas is a man made invention by the Greeks, who assumed that Jesus was born on the 25th of December. The proof is: the word: "Christmas" does NOT occur ONCE in the Bible. Jesus never heard the word "Christmas" in his life, since the Greeks made this man made word up, BUT Jesus spoke: Aramaic NOT Greek. In fact, the birth of Jesus in the Bible DIRECTLY contradicts 25th December in the Gospel of Luke:

              Luke 2:8:
"And there were shepherds living OUT IN THE FIELDS nearby, keeping watch over their FLOCKS at night."

The place where Jesus was in Bethlehem, according to Luke Chapter 2. Bethlehem geographically falls in the northern hemisphere. If you went to Bethlehem every year, the temperature will be 0 degrees or LESS. So it is IRRATIONAL to believe that the shepherds in the night were outside keeping a watch over their flocks in the FREEZING cold temperature, when it could have been snowing back then.

Whenever Jesus was born it was NOT December. That is the reason why in early Christianity, people believed Jesus was born during the SPRING and others believe it was the SUMMER, not December. The Greeks who NEVER met Jesus made this the date of Jesus. In 313 A.D. Emperor Constantine declared December 25th to be the birthday of Jesus (December 25th was prescribed earlier as the birthday of Mithra, by emperor Aurelian). Sabbath day, which is literally Saturday (as the Jews still maintain), became Sunday as it was the day of the Sun, another element from the Mithra worship.

So, the Greeks plagiarized from Mithra and the date is completely is man made, thus Christmas should not be celebrated, since if you agree the birth of Bible is accepted to be the correct concept, December cannot be the birth of Jesus.

now i'm quite sure all this is true, BUT...

it's me that normally lacks xmas spirit! bah humbug...

p.s. one other thing, didn't the greeks invent bumming? they've got a lot to answer for...
