I just got an email back from Robin Cook saying that he has a backlog of orders to complete, so he cannot take any new orders.
He recommended that I contact him again at the end of March in case I am still searching for a new cue
he makes great cues! but it takes really long to wait for it now
if u place your order in the coming March you will probably get it in 2011?
maybe it's a good idea to go for mike wooldridge, tony glover or tony wilshaw?
I am looking for invest up to £400 on a new snooker cue.
I would appreciate if you could share your thoughts on your favorite cue and what would be the best investment.
Who is considered the best manufacturer? John Parris? Craftsman? Stamford? Maybe someone else?
I am looking for a 3/4 butt jointed cue.
Could someone also explain how splices play a role in picking a cue? What is important when it comes to splices?
Thanks in advance
Nir
For your budget, Hunt & Osborne Greenplate cue should be okay. TW cue also still within this price range but you have to wait for about 6months to get new cue from TW.
Splices have little role in cue perfomance. It is just the beauty. A full black ebony of MW 3/4 cue could be your best buy.
I would recommend you also try 'poolqjunkie' on here, who makes the Aurora brand of snooker cue here in Canada. I use one of his one-piece cues and it's the best cue I've ever owned.
I also have one of his 3/4-butt cues which is a duplicate of my one-piece but haven't started using it as yet since it's in mid-season here and I don't want to switch until the summer off season
