All depends on how steady a hand you have to drill holes. I have only fitted a thread to the butt of my cue so i can use a 6 inch extention..I done this just with a hand drill and a set of calipers to get the centre of my cue butt..it turned out fine...do you have access to a lathe etc ?Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.

its possible but once you take the cost of the brass etc you might as well get a pro to do it if there is one near.

I am not sure how you can do it by hand, but I guess it is possible.
But if you can buy a lathe, even a cheap one it would make life much easier for you I am sure.
Good luck.

I think what he means is the brass would be of a larger diamater to the shaft so in order to make the joint flush with the shaft then he would need to reduce the srapp brass with a lathe....I think this it what he means. Not played for 3 years and itching for a game....11-3-2017.
