  • Tri-cues

Hey guys, has anyone out there tried one of these "tri-cues", apparentley the last 18" or so of the cue has been machined to a triangular profile (with gentley rounded edges).
The theory is that it will sit better in the "V" of your bridging hand, the "V" of the rest and will allow the cue to sit more stable on the cushion edge when a ball is resting tight against the side rail.
The theory sounds well founded, but I would be interested to hear from anyone that has actually tried one:snooker:

Why is this posted in SSB exactly???

Seems a daft idea to me, can't see how the cue would play the same being triangular

They've been around for a fair few years, never took off. I don't think the inventors thought it through properly. The cue might sit nicely in the bridge, but what about when it's resting on the cush between fingers, probably feels completely wrong

As the inventor of Tricues I did think about the profile of Tricues, made 10 put them around local pubs all stolen within a week. Have now sold thousands of Tricues, getting E-mails all the time from profesional and amateur players. Until you try one you would 'nt know how it plays.

Do any professionals actually use your cues in tournaments? Pool snooker anything?

Andy Mistry is using the Tricue in 9-Ball and a few others. The trouble is they are using BCE cues which I shaped myself, I am now waiting for my new range of American pool cues which I will be getting later on in the year. Hopefully Big Dave will be selling them to a few more professionals.

So does that mean all of your older cues are reshaped BCE cues?

Could you please explain what is the benefit of this triangle shaft over a conventional shaft? I visited your site but I am afraid I do not fully understand the concept.
The shaft is also not fully trainglar from what I understand-- what does it actually look like? I am sorry I cannot really visualize it in my mind.
                          Thank you.

Good selection of retailers too, can't comment on the concept until I've tried it.
