  • Dan Shelton Custom Cue Offer

I have an offer here for one of my custom cues. An order was placed for a ¾ cue of mine which sadly the customer lost his job and cancelled the order. The shaft is made up with 4 ebony splices at the minute, no join and was tapered for a 9.5mm tip. The butt is yet to be made and currently is a shaft alone. I was going to make the cue up with a standard spec, but have decided to offer forum members a full custom cue to their spec. Currently if the cue was to be ¾ jointed, standard spec, ash with plain ebony butt, the price will be £190. Obviously if splices were added, joins, extensions etc the price will reflect on the changes. I can provide pics of the shaft later if anyone needs them, but id say the shaft is a A- grade. Nice chevrons, great feel, but there is an oval grain at the end. If you are interested then PM me. Estimated time for the cue would be 3 weeks depending on spec.

Extensions can be offered as well as case.

Feel free to browse my signature link for past work.

    regards

    Dan

Dan's A- shaft is for sure better than many so called AAA shafts of some other makers...
I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

Thanks guys. I remembered actually that i do have a picture.

The A- is purely because of the "boat" at the end.

It is a nice one. And the eye at the top end makes it unique.

Looks like no bites as yet for your offer, so I'll ask a price for a plain ebony butt (29mm diameter), 3/4-joint, balance around 16.5in, length 58in (if possible, 57in if not), overall weight at 18.5oz.

Price to include delivery to Canada as most economical means.

PM me if you like with price and any other questions. PayPal is good for me

                Cheers,

Im sorry i do not touch snakewood. Reason is its so expensive and so hard to get a good piece. The guys like Trevor, Mike etc can buy in bulk and select the best pieces. As a little guy who does this as a hobby and enjoyment i simply cannot justify it. There are so many problems and issues with snakewood that i will not go near it. Apologies.

I do have some. And i enjoy using it. But ask any cuemaker and they will tell you the amount of wastage for example is quite high, sadly something i cannot take if im doing this as a hobby. I would love to offer it, but i hope people can understand.

Snakewood naturally has cracks in it. Rarely these can be an issue. But the main problem is some of the time you can have what you believe to be a perfectly figured piece that once turned the figure can vanish. I like things to be right, simple, and if i cannot guarantee it will not be then I will not do it.
