im more than happy with the cue unclevit! happy.. umm whats more than happy? ecstatic? lol

he truly is a gifted craftsman, shame he is only now getting his own name out on his work. makes me wonder, who else in the world is playing with an uncle thai cue, but dont know it yet.
Is UT working for himself now or does he still work for Omin? i dont think he has his own badge yet does he? It might be hard for UT to start selling his cues (to anyone other than the forum members) as his reputation is very limited outside Thailand. Although if people like Ben Nunan start playing with his cues who knows.

Unclevit... is UT thinking of expanding? Looking for a distributor in Australia maby? or is that your job

Makes me wonder where these people get their wood from. Google is like tits on a bull when it comes to stuff like that. It's not what you know, it's who you know that knows someones uncle's brother's sister's mother's best friend that works with someone that has a mate that owns some old ash yeah?

NO deflection at all. use to be horrible, deflection when trying to break, but this time, it feels great. get great screw back from half length of the table! its definitely a keeper, for life never going to sell this cue.

thanks heaps again. cant thank you enough
I can't see myself getting to Melbourne for another couple of years but i'll hold you to those free games.

That's a very good comment of yours . After all we are both UT's customers. Cheers.

He used to finish any order within 2-3 weeks time, but now extending to 4+ weeks. I calm him down telling to him that 'please take your time'. A good cue will be cherished and admired by player, and should last that player years of joyful games. He understands my telling and concern on delivering his 'best works'. With ready materials on hands, he can finish any cue within 7 days. Too bad, good woods are not easy to find these days, not even for a good ebony blanks, or ash, or maple, alone. Finally, thank you for trusting him to do your jobs.
1 for me and 1 for Freddy (fswt30 actually). Thanks to you for reminding UT not to rush in our cues project. Nobody is like to get pressurized anyway. Good job Unclevit.

You once told me that UT is the best in selecting the high quality playing shaft. As far as I concern, all UT's customers in TSF are very happy with their shafts, even when it is compared to Omin's work. Congratulation to both of you and UT.

TheRowdyOne : Just some inputs from me. UT never worked for Omin, but some of his trained cuesmiths used to, or now working for both Omin and MasterCue. UT is 70 this year, and been in the snooker playing more than 50 years, and just turned to cuemaking past 20 years ago, firstly under his own badge of "Typhoon". Old players these days, here, are still remembering this brand. I rep him at the moment. Why ? I found him some 6 months ago, through our National Coach's (Tai Pichit/Chuchart) brother who is well known in the cue selection business for their club's members. I found that UT's cues are very good in playing quality (shafts, mostly) while the price is quite low for a custom quality. I ordered a few at first for myself and friends, and later urged him to offer his excellent works to foreign players, through this forum of which I am a member. Since UT is making cues on his own passion, he won't go for volume production, and only limits himself (due to his age too) to some 8-10 cues monthly. He does not know English and I have to help him on correspondences with his foreign customers. I also help finance him too, sometimes. UT, without cuemaking money, is living quite well already. That is why he charges quite a low cost on his custom works. Besides, cost of living in Thailand is quite low comparing to other Asian countries. He plans to stop his cuemaking passion in 2011, and authorizing his reps is not what he will do. The life of any rep will last only a year, i.e. this year. Since he's on his own, he can do only a very limited custom cues each month. Local players are feeding him some 4-6 custom orders monthly for the past several years. I rep him and what I get is some US$10-20 profit per cue which I spent almost all on the gasoline. Each custom project will take some 3-5 hours of my time, travelling to discuss and select the woods, do follow-ups, get the cue, packing, posting, etc. It's also my passion to help other players get their quality cues, at a budget price. But won't be for long as I have 3 full time jobs to do at the moment. If any order is complicated, I will have to refuse. My wives don't like what I am doing on this cue thing. They own a small jewelry store, and my time there will be more precious in terms of moneymaking. If you are married, you will know that 'keeping a wife' quiet and happy is something valuable for your own personal times. You may heard that many times I have refused members' orders due to complicated requirements. Anything that makes my life miserable, I will have to refuse. BTW, I know Omin and his family in person, so I help members getting his worldclass cues too. Mostly at a loss to me as his place is about 60 kms. round trip from my place, through heavy traffics and hours of driving time. But since I am a Thai, it's always good to help expose Thai's quality to the World. Anyhow, when I visit Omin's place it's kind of 'feel like home' to me. Omin and his family is very kind to me, always. I learn a lot of cuemaking techniques from both Omin and UT. And for the woods, large local suppliers are getting their woods from Canada, North America, UK, etc. Ash and Maple blanks will come in 3-5 big containers at a time, and Omin/MasterCue will buy whole containers at a time, leaving UT for small, private, selection of woods for the shafts (UT makes only 30-40 cues each quarter, so he does not need the whole container). And with this, UT's shafts are always good, but limited. Omin and MasterCue are supplying rack cues to more than 500 clubs (data of 2008, 100+ alone in Bangkok) throughout Thailand, so they will need that much of the blanks. Other rare woods are from other 'specialized' suppliers. I need to write this long here as there are questions about myself and UT from time to time. Nobody has seen UT face-to-face yet. It's me who they met when coming here. Who knows I might be That Person !!

Did UT teach you everything he know? Amazing fact. He is too old to do this kind of work by now. Send my regards to him and tell him "THANK YOU FOR MAKING THE BEST CUE".

Yep, I was free this morning, before going out for exercise. UT plans to cease cuemaking next year, so anything from him this year will be kind of a collection. I was doing a cue by myself since December last year, finished it last 2 weeks and UT rejected its butt work. He said the balance was a headache. Instead of reworking on the butt, I donated it to a young player met at a club. Seen him a couple times using rack cues. He's just a student and no money to buy a good cue. My cue is good enough for him to practice, said UT. Simply the butt work is not that finely crafted. But much much better than any rack cue, or close to UT's ready-made that I have seen. Maple shaft. The kid likes it lot. He came with his sister, and now you know why I gave the cue to him I may make cues as a passion somedays. Learned a lot from both UT and Omin. Just need more 'practicing hours'.

Thanks for helping us in selecting custom cues and great info about UT.

It's good to have both UT and Omin in Asia to help local players.
Hope there are more UT buyers share their view here, so more can get UT cues before he retire
