There are only 2 reasons for me if I need to have 1pc cue(s) in my collection:-

    1) It would be for MW and TW cues because they are top notch so far and I want their made last for many years ahead without worrying the "joint" problem; &

    2) If I have my own Pro Tournament standard of steel block cushion snooker table in my house. So I don't have to bring my 1pc cue(s) to the club unless there are local tournaments with the condition that the organizer also providing a very good standard of table+ball.

Otherwise, I will keep myself using 3/4 cue for convenience purpose of carrying it. As long I always take good care of my 3/4 cue, that is more than enough. Plus, it is much easier re-tipping a 3/4 compare to a 1pc cue....right?

I do now have a cue locker (which is also can be fitted with the cue case) in a local club of my place just in case I need to leave it there. The little problem is come when I want to bring it home to do the "monthly" maintenance (cleaning+cue oil) because I don't even have a CAR...!!!(And I don't know when I can buy it...!!!). That's why I need a decent 3/4 cue...for now.

Maybe you guys have different reasons too?

    Cheers...

My opinion is that it really depends on the cue. You need to try it to see if it works for you.
On paper a one piece is supposed to be better but if you try a batch of cues in a shop you may end up liking a 3/4 and there is nothing wrong with that.

It's very much depend on the cues. 3/4 top quality cues can play as good as any 1piece. Depends on yourself. Don't worry bout being wierd. Many good players play very well with 3/4 cues
