  • JP Ultimate with rectangular plate?

    I just found this:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/johnn-parris-c...item2558ea0d53

    Can it be true?
If so I am sure it will fetch quite an amount. Or am I wrong?
I am confused... Oh wait... Maybe I'm not...

I have done that out of curiousity.
But I thought the more knowledgable guys here will know if it can be true.

The cue looks pretty decent actually. Tho a square badge aint my favourite thing.

I think somebody was willing to pay >1200 GBP.
And I am quite sure the cue will not remain in UK or Europe...

Chatlag, I have only seen one H&O'b with the rectangular plaque shown in your avatar just now. Were many made and do you know the history of the one you show?

I also had never seen one before the preious owner offered me the cue. He bought it at Hun&O'Byrne during the 80ies and had it since then.
Honestly, the cue is nice but not the ultimate () piece of craftsmanship. Macassar butt, thin green, thick maple and thin green veneer with an ebony top splice. Nice shaft with four chevrons on front.
Good playing cue, not that ultra stiff like many Hunt & O'Byrne cues.
I asked a few people before I bought it and they told me it is from the first series of Hunt&O'Byrne. All of them told me that they have seen maybe one or two so far and that the cues is very rare.
But I will ask Will Hunt when I visit their workshop next time.

i have seen a parris cue with a rectangular badge before, i am told they are really old ones the 1 i saw was made before john had a standard range allegedly.
Just because its old, doesn't mean its worth a fortune!!
