I just noticed this Ebay listing for a David H. White cue.

Anyone know anything about this cue maker?

its a bit old i saw this before christmas also. d, white was a cue maker from formby southport he used to have a little shop which sold antiques and his workshop was at the back i visited him around 1999 and bought 2 cues off him he told me then he was in the process of winding down for retirement due to a problem caused by wood dust that had built up over the years. he used to make very nice cues and was a realy nice guy i think he has a bike shop in southport now.

Thanks for the response. Small world, eh - I live in western Canada and I just bought a David White cue like the one in the ebay listing. I'd never heard of the cuemaker, I just liked the look and the feel of the cue and thought I'd take it home with me.

The cue wasn't well cared for, at first glance it looked like a ratty old house cue. The wood was dried out, it had chalk stains and 20-odd years of accumulated grime. It's now soaked up 3 coats of light furniture oil, the grime and chalk stains are gone and I'm quite happy with it.

Anyone know how the end of the butt was finished on D.H. White cues? There's a threaded hole in the butt but whatever was fitted is gone. So was there a rubber bumper on the butt end of the cues?
