It's alright there is no noobie question, as we're all here to learn from one another.
To know which suit you the most, you have to try it out(different tip). Only you can tell. You will have the "feel"..and the way it takes the cue ball. It takes time, to figure out. Use the tip you are using know to guide you to a better tip.

      Hope this help:

Haha Freddie... appreciated your pardoning on my noobie questions.
"Alright alright... kamai tip is really not bad at all!!".. Ok.. well for the very first time, i've managed to clear all 4 reds between Pink & Black:- one of Nick barrow's training recommandations, am beri proud of myself right now should say!

Though the difference i felt was unexplainable in more proper professional way at my current skill-level and understanding, but for sure what i'd noticed was cue ball seems to be bouncing off extremely effortlessly when im cueing through cue ball using very light touching soft cueing action, was like wow ..!

Though this kamei softy tip felt very much stiffer/harder than elky;("already gut-felted it when it took me ages just shaping and sanding this piggy tip down"), ironically... it sure 'grips the cue ball well, wow another surprise ya.
It might also be due to the new maple cue which i've just accuried, very probally too.

Wao .. good that you like the new tip and plays well with it.
Well, what you pay is what you get.
It's alright if you can't find the correct word to describe the feeling, most important you know which suit you the most.
You use the whole tip? or cut into half ??

Think i've got a problem now after visiting the kamui webby which you've shown me. Didn't know there's soo many specs for this tip, previously thought that peach colour tip stands for hard and black for soft.
PROBLEM-: Now that my tip's already installed and therefore.. I don't even know what im using right now!!! What the.... @#$%
Anyay, can you please teach me how to cut tip into half? Thanks!

Maybe you can try again later. It work fine with mine. There are only two colour and a few categories.
I thought you were saying you use the soft type ?
The original tip is quite thick, you can slowly cut it into half and use it twice
Just get a sharp pen knife will do, but be careful.

Actually, there are 3 type of kamui tip
              1. Kamui Pro (brown/tan) - S, M, H
              2. Kamui Black (13 layer) - SS, S, M, H
              3. Kamui 8 (8 layer design for snooker) - S, MH & H

Only those that are 13 layer can be split into 2 for economical purposes.

When i say it's soft, i mean my friend told me that it's soft when handing over
it to me. He told me black is soft, peach is hard i then took the black without realising the important S M L XL but instead noted words like 'GLUE', JAPON & KABUI(if memory don fail me) which i thought that was very cool indeed!

Ok, next time if get a kabui i'll knife it into half, thanks!

Im falling in love with this piggy-tip even more after today's game.
Not knowing its soft hard or medium can add some kinda mystery to the game.

                        You're most welcome mate.
Lately I've also have this one-pointing disease.
Play pretty lousy yesterday, and now have to start practising the long pot and placing nicely.

Haha..LOL.. me neber expected your still encountering the typically one pointer syndrom too;"i suppose you're just kidding me rite" you deemed to ma as an above average player as you've got such good knowledges in snooker.

Wow..you actually has had been practising the long pot and placing the cue ball nicely??? LOL... "Look, thats also what i've been doing for the pass 3weeks. What a coinincident man.
What i did was actually both of Nick barrow's training routines of which:

                          1. - is clearing the 4 reds inbetween pink and black. (Placing & soft touch CB- control)
                          2. - potting blue off its spot to corner pocket with CB at the baulk line..
                          (Straight-cueing & accuracy practice)
                          3. - Correct me if im wrong.

HAHA.. Nono.. To be honest actually I'm not a very very good snooker player out there. Just been serious for the last one and half years. I start to practise cluelessly and realise my game wasn't developing and I have to do something about it.
Then I started browsing through all those snooker tips video on youtube, and in December I join the Nic Barrow site and view into TSF deeply for more info(I know I joint TSF in August but I never do anything about it). Only by then I start to improve slowly and play snooker with the correct technique. The snooker centre around my university area are very expensive with lousy tables and balls(only played there once awhile if my hands are really itch and cant help.. Haha). So I only play when I go back to my hometown which is something like 2 to 3 times a month(about 3 or 4 hours each time). Back there, I played in local clubs with Riley and Burwat tables(smoking free). With the limited amount of time to play I have, that's why I'm still stuck at the starting point. Always jealous seeing people with very high breaks.
Yes, you're right I really did those practise and one more. The color ball clearance, which I always/almost everytime screw up when try to place for the blue after the brown.
The snooker info I have is because I'm in the game for quite awhile and not because I'm a good player... T.T sad...

Oh is it?!?! ic... ic... you started to get serious around one year plus? Well.. for me its nearly the same except that i started getting serious about 5mths five months ago after i joined TSF. Its only after reading valuable coaching advises gaven especially by Terry Davidson's and a few others that very knowledgeable cums helpful members here, not forgetting nick's newsletters too ya... which, IMO i ultimately think they're much more useful than by watching youtube alone.

FYI, i've been watching youtube for about 3-4 years, the progress of my game improved was just a small fraction as compared to what i've gain from TSF's couching section.
Oh yes, im about to start practice clearing the colours regime soon.
It doesn't matter to me if your a good of lousy player, thing is your willing to share and thats what it really matters.
Need not feel jealous if peeps making HB. Instead play with them meanwhile make full mental note on them and observe how they play. You'll guarantee become a better player in no time, which pressumblely faster than any method.

If you got the chance to come singapore just give me a call. I'll bring you down to my club and have a try on my club's competition table (as good as those see on youtube)!

Yeah, many of them including Terry and Nic and others have been very helpful to me over the last few months. Really thank them for their time and help me to understand the game better and develop my game.
Now that I've develop much interest in snooker, I concentrate and pay more attention when I'm playing and learn from my mistakes. My game has been improving ever since I practise with the correct techniques and practise recommend by Terry and Brendan..Will let you know if I'm going to Singapore, most probably will be around May and during my semester break..
