Cheers, could get it cut to 58 and re-tapered/finished then weight reduction to 17.5 and end up with a nice cue

i guess you could, but after the effort and expense wouldn't it be better to just spring for a better cue?

i dont know how to link to items in the past lol i had one, 57 inch, 8.3 mm tip, use to use it for pool. was great. only problem was it was 18.3 ounces, a bit heavy for me. i sold it to a mate for 120 tho. which is close to the same price i got it for :P

was a very solid feeling cue tbh. i guess if u got a 60 inch one, u cld take it down, but itd mess up the balance point. the cues are properly balanced (arnd 16inches) so they do feel pretty good to play with, despite being a cheap ebay cue. BUT like i said, only the MYX ones hav this consistency, ive seen the other brands, and theyre nothing NEAR the same quality. they hav horrible splicings, uneven, not even round some of them (sharp point?) the shaft finish is terible, and the quality of the wood feels like nothing similar. worse than a dufferin house cue wen u pick it up. dont b easily decieved.. =]

Had one of these Horse cues in ages ago. Arrived well packaged in it's own 3/4 case. Not the best quality case, Aluminium with catches, rather than locks. The quality of the cue was fairly good I felt, although I never actually got to use it as someone took it off my hands. From memory was 58" 9mm 18 oz. Downside was that the piston on the tele-scopic ext broke first time I tested it. Both extensions fitted into the butt joint quite well. If I catch u with the chap that bought it, I'll ask for his opinion.

Yes their adverts on ebay are full of waffle and half-english (makes me wonder if they do this on purpose so as readers think ...aah at least they tried... when in actual fact they have perfect English and it's just a sales ploy? Or am I being too cynical?)

Would suggest it is a cheap 'first cue' option if you're on a budget, but otherwise I'd get a tried and tested cue-makers cue. For a good quality Hand Spliced Cue Craft 3/4 with extensions and case your looking around £180 - £300 depending on which woods you require for the butt and which style case you choose. PM me with your exact specs if you want a quote on having one made, Cheers, Dave, Snookerpoolman

thanks for the information dave. i noticed their rather clumsy use of language as well. ordinarily, that would make me go take a pass, but they have a good rating on ebay, and several people have spoken reasonably well about the cues, so i think i'll go ahead and get one. it will certainly be a step up from the $30 elite i have now.
if money were a bit looser i would spend the $200-$400 to get a better one.

beore i buy it, i reccomend you PM some people on here for any reasonable deals they can do for you for a whole set. ADR147 for example might hav a cheap but good cue lying around. that price might be able to get you something better on here. =]

got my new darkhorse cue about a week ago. the tip was awful (a friend described it as feeling like pressed cardboard), so i replaced it with an elkmaster. not perfect, but for the money i'm quite pleased. the shipping was very quick. 2 days from hong kong to houston tx.
overall, a good intermediate level cue.

                          Michael adam cue

My friend just got one. $130 aust for cue ,alum case, tele extension. short butt and some extra tips(Brand unknown)inc freight. Not bad for the money. Was sent from China not Venezuela. Not a bad cue especially for the price. A bit butt heavy, 19 ounces and 57 long. Not a top flight cue but good value.

I ordered an extension very similar if not exactly the same from china.
This 1 was already damaged when I received it though. does this mean they are not worth buying? shall I just order a push on extension?
                            any advice is welcome

If practice makes perfect, and no one's perfect, then why practice?

see about returning the extension. if you bought it on ebay, they are dependent on their ratings and should try to make it right. no problems with my extension. the tip was crap, but that was easy enough to change. in fact, i'm experimenting with making a few milk dud tips.
