No need for research by me! I'm an ex Accountant and Purchasing & Contracts Manager. Before retiring numbers and margins was how I earned my money. Don't do "homers" before anyone asks. lol

Won't be too Bad for me Andrew as a Close Friend owns Big House there so Holiday for Free and Come Home with a Few Cues/Cases etc and I wont be selling them for £120? As I will be Getting some Crackers Not Standard Pb1 etc which most are selling for £120/£130 I would rather Pay the Extra and Get Better Cues.

I don’t mean to rain on Master Cues parade, but after having dealt with them I thought I should comment.

Let me first say that I do like the playing characteristics of the two cues I own.

I had issues (posted in another thread) with a custom MC that I had purchased directly from them. Coming to a solution was as pleasant as pulling teeth. I had a credit coming to me so to save on shipping and ensure my first cues repair, I ordered a second custom cue to be delivered when the first had been repaired. When I received the cues, the first still had the initial flaw and the second also had a flaw. At some point (I presume at the oiling stage) the second cue either had something dropped on it, or it fell against something. There is a dent in the handle. It can easily be steamed out, with a bit of work, when I oil the cue. I have to wonder about their PR and pride, when 15 minutes is not spent repairing a new custom cue, especially because the customers first cue was also faulty coming out of their factory. The second cue was making a noise, which I attributed to the tip so I replaced it. This did not eliminate the problem so when checking the ferrule, I discovered it was loose and with a little twist it came off. Not only was it improperly glued, but to save time MC had installed a threaded ferrule onto an unthreaded (too) smaller tenon.

If you are interested in purchasing a MC I would definitely put weight on what Andrew has said. Buy it from a reputable seller. If you have any problems with the cue, coming to an agreement on the solution, will probably be painless. Plus, I can’t imagine any seller first allowing a cue to leave their shop in the conditions, MC sent me mine.

I own a 1 piece Mastercue with an ash shaft and plain ebony butt, it's a cracking cue. Ordered it from Stu at Green Baize who I cannot recommend highly enough, nothing is too much trouble and the cue was delivered the day after I paid for it. :snooker:

            Hi Mike,
Sorry to hear your Misfortune m8.

But too be Honest you must have been one of the Unlucky Ones!

I have had over 50+ Master Cues and Only Problem I came across was the Joints, Which has now been Sorted by Master Cue.

For the Price of these Cues they are 2nd to None and Very Good Value for Money, The Finish on these Master Cues are Great and Especially the Shaft etc.

            Gaz.

yes stu is good - and as somebody said he would check it was up to scratch before sending it out. there are lot of ways of saving money in this day and age by buying cues direct from thailand etc but unless you know what you are doing and you know how to repair any problems its a risk you take to save usually not a lot, especially if a few months down the line you get a tax bill through the post! - the middle man eliminates this risk.

Hi Gazza147, I’m glad to hear that you have had better MC’s than what I lucked onto. After reading reviews of their joint problem, I stuck to one piece. I agreed that they are a great playing cue and its hard to argue with the price. I have used a 3/4 JP Ult for the last ten years, so I ordered a cue with the same specs. I’m amazed at the difference between the two hits. The tip on the JP is nearing the end of it’s life and I will put the same type of tip on it so that I can make an honest comparison of the two cues. Also I do like the feel of a one piece over a 3/4, but its hard to switch from old reliable.

The best part of Mastercue that I like are their shafts-very stiff, rigid and responsive.

                        Very good point Andrew!
Mastercue is not a retailer friendly company,Its business is mostly wholesale based,so its better to buy a mastercue through a middleman then buying it directly.
