I got them from "snookercues4u" off of ebay. He get's them from Lithoshop in Germany. Who are an official distributor. So i have no reason to believe they are fakes. They could as has been said be part of a bad batch. But as i stated earlier for the premium price Kamui charge there shouldn't be bad batches with the level of quality control they have.

Hi Hunter,
I dont think you have a fake one, but just one that is faulty. It can happen considering how many tips are made and sold, and sometimes perhaps something happened to the tip during transit, or whatever.
I would really suggest that you contact the seller or the manfacturer, they should be willing to take care of you. I know I would and I am a much smaller company than kamui.
Kamui tips are quite good and well made. Give them one more chance. May be you will change your mind.
Hope this helps.

If i find the other one i'll give it a try. As for asking for a replacement i'll probably not bother. Lesson learnt from my end and time to move on. I have read through many of the posts and the majority think they are brilliant. So it could well be just a bad one. But one bad one at that price has been enough to move me onto the more traditional laminated tips.
