depends what size tip your using. if you hav a 9mm tip, nothing higher than 3mm. slightly domed. you dont want a small ball for a tip, you just dont want it flat. so curved a bit up in the centres good. if you hav 10mm tip, id say nothing higher than 3.5mm. and never hav the dome come all the way down to the ferrule, because if the tip compresses on a deepscrew shot, the side of the ferrule might hit the ball and could chip or scratch it, and could damage your cue. try n leave at least 1 to 2 mm on the sidee.
