Splices

I,m still not 100% sure on the design for my cue off trev and have been searching the forum for pics of single snakewood splice with thick maple veneer and single thuya burl splice with two maple veneers .

Anyone got these designs or pics of them

hotpot You're more of a ditherer than me!! lol. My Craftsman cue has arrrived. Very nice. Hope to try it out this week but busy with the snooker on the telly.

Just plain brazillian rosewood mick , lovely cue though , i,ve only hit a few balls with it but as for the feel it,s feels like i,ve had it for years .
My cue off Dan should,nt be too long , i hope and thats an ebony butt with single cocobola splice with thick maple veneer .

Is that as dark as it looks in the photos?

did you have to pay to get that from Canada,
or did you get it locally?

It looks like ebony until you look closer and you can see the grain in it , i like it myself .
No i had it off pooljunkie on the forum and the delivery was £40 . Dont know if it,s still the same as it cost him a bit more than that . Airin is a top bloke to deal with though , as are the others who i,ve had cues off

If the Aurora plays as good as it looks and feel it will be the best cue i,ve owned . Apart from the attention to detail being spot on and the feel and balance , the thing i like most of all is the taper .

It was not custom made it was one he had ready to go , but i dont think i could have choosen a better one

What's the taper like
I prefer a slim taper almost like some old billiard cues

I would describe as a gradual slimmish taper not quite like an old billiard cue where a 10 mm ferrule seems to be 10-11 mm for a good few inches .

From the tip to the furthest point down the shaft that you feather it seem to be just right to me , a nice natural flowing taper , not to thick and not to thin running over your bridge hane during feathering .

If i remember to take pics tomorrow , i,ll try and capture the taper .
