I was thinking going for that wood you used on that first maple you sold , but no one seems to know what wood it is .

Tell you what , it,s odds on that i,ll buy another cue after sorting mine out to see which ones i need to flog . Keep that wood for me and i,ll probably have a maple with that wood . Obviously if someone wants it in the mean time then let them have it .

I just loved that cue ans wished i bought it now instead of the gbl and mastercraft as goos as they are .

So put it aside mucka , unless someone asks for it .

Hello Hotpot Can't really get any decent pictures with my mobile phone camera. I've added a picture of the shaft but again the photo doesn't really do the cue justice.
If you have a look at the Craftsman website for the cues mentioned in my previous post and use your imagination to add white/blue/white veneers you'll get an idea of what my cue looks like. The chevrons clearly won't be as good as you get on a Parris or TW but you get what you pay for.
I had a knock with it yesterday and it seemed ok. Joint was nice and stable and undetectable when running your finger down the shaft.
One thing which is a little bit of a concern is that the cue felt a bit sticky. I think Craftsman might finish their cues with some sort of wax which reacts with my sweaty palms. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Might change the tip out at some stage for a better one. Again any thoughts?

Hey Bigmeek that shaft looks really good mucka nice chevrons and evenly spaced .
As for the finish you could try some fine wire wool or very fine sandpaper i have the winners papers off ebay which do a good job of taking away any built up dirt etc and can also be used to polish the ferrule , so try them as they wont do no harm .

As for the tips well i,ve fitted a mw supertip on one cue and a pg on another and also bought a kamui and was lucky to get the new talisman off doc , but have,nt tried them yet but will do when the snooker finishes .

I always cut a mm or two off the bottom of my tips , i find by doing this it does,nt need knocking in or shaping so saves a lot of time and hastle , i just give the tip a few rubs with 300 grit to makesure the chalk sticks well .
