  • Heritage cue little help please

Hi guys I'm new to the forum.

I have a Heritage 3 piece cue, had it for around 6 years now think it was in the 100 pounds range, may of been a bit more.

I like the cue all in all, however my only gripe is it has some sort of varnish which can sometimes begin to stick. Is it possible to get you cue refinshed without the varnish and maintain a good "smooth" looking cue without sanding away the finish?

If so how much would this cost and whats the process needed to do this?

You will need to strip off the varnish using a fine a grade as possible , then polish using finer paper and reseal using raw linseed oil etc .

As for the grade of paper i,m not sure but the finer the better as long as it removes the varnish .

Pheraps one of the cuemakers may advise on on the grade .

There are threads on this subject that explain the oiling/finishing process , have a search .
