  • Any difference?

Right well ill soon have the money to purchase a decent cue and ive chosen to get one from craftsman cues. Thing is, im a little confused as of which to get. They are mostly made to order so i would just go and decide which length/tip size/weight i want and order the cue i want in that spec.

either the legend cue or the classic cue on that page, OR

    http://www.craftsmancues.com/acatalo...rd_range.html]

the century cue on that page.

Will there be any difference in quality between the 3, or are they all the same except you are paying the extra for the wood finish at the butt end?

The classic range are made in Thailand and finished in the workshop and standard range and made entirely in their workshop .

Monkey I've just bought a Craftsman Century and its great. You do have to pay extra depending on the splices and the veneers. If you're not bothered about having a fancy cue I think the Legend would be fine. IMO Craftsman make really nice cues. It would be worth phoning Simon or Dave at Craftsman to discuss your requirements. Thats what I did. They were very helpful. You don't have to have a cue exactly like they are shown on the website. I changed the type of splice and the colours of the veneers. Have a look at my posts and you'll see some photos of what I got.

I agree with Bigmeek, the guys at Craftsman are really accommodating with anything you ask them. Coming from Leeds I get to visit them and have found both Dave and his son Simon always willing to have a chat and more importantly listen to what you say.
Whatever you chose I don't think you will be in any way disappointed when you get the end result in your hands.

Good luck and let us know which one you go for.

yeah the century cue does look nice. Im thinking now that i may get one of the standard ones, as if the classics are mainly done in thailand, surely the standards will be of better quality? I want something that will last me for years and years. So the picture of the century cue on the website, will it be more than £155 for that type of design?

You'll get the century for £155 with your choice of splice and veneers. I opted for a darker coco-bola wood with white/blue/white veneers. The only extra thing I got was to add an SD joint in the butt. This cost £9.00. One question which I never thought to ask Simon was regarding the quality of the Ash shaft. Maybe the more you pay the better the quality of the Ash?

Hotpot Agree with you 100%. Greenbeize would be my No 1 choice. Great value for money. I pestered the life out of Stuart at GBL looking for a cue but at the time he didn't have anything at 17.5 ozs. Also Stu's cues were mostly multi-spliced and I wanted just a single splice. Stu said he could make me one up but it would be a few months as he was busy. Being an impatient sod I opted for Craftsman.

Personally I would go for the panther.Mainly because it states that it is made in there workshop and if you are going to splsh some money on a cue your better off getting something worthiwhile, which could last you a lifetime.

That is what John Parris said about all his cues.....
Was the fact that each n everyone of his cue is done by him? it is a question
