Just a lttle sharing on cocobolo. I personally like cocboolo very much as well. But it is better be surrouned by veneer. I have seen some cocobolo splicing without veneer lookslike broken pieces cos the dark grains merged with ebony. If cocobolo is used on such a small area, I am sure that it looks like broken pieces too.

Yes, I think cocobolo with a maple border would look quite nice.
I agree if you choose cocobolo with very thick grains then it would not look very good. Cocobolo comes in many shades with different grain patterns.
The reason I would not use a maple border is just that I do not want it to look too much like a "9 ball cue" and I prefer a more understated look. But it is just a matter of personal preference.
Please understand I am not trying to judge anyone-- just expressing my own opinion and trying to do it in a constructive fashion.
Like I said before I think it is very inspiring to see someone so passionate about cues to experiment new ideas.
Thanks for the pictures.:-)Last edited by poolqjunkie; 12 May 2010, 05:42 AM.
