    Welcome to TSF stez keep.
I would be very surprised if they use varnish as standard.

Oil finish usually on the shaft, nice cues & nice people to deal with, plus great value for money can pretty much make what you want any style any spec & do some really nice custom cues without charging the earth.

No varnish on their cues, the finish is really nice.

I'd guess it's just oil but they might use a little wax.

the nemises is a nice looking cue & mastercraft are keen to please, just tell them how you'd like the cue to be spec etc & no doubt you'll get exactly what you ask for.

Like with most makers, the more info you can provide them with the better if you have specifics length, weight tip size etc,etc the list can go on butt diameter, balance point even the number of arrows on the ash ( there may be extra costs involved with some of these things with different makers ) but mastercraft make it to your exact spec at no extra cost usually.

But that said if you have no special requirements at all you'll get a nice cue regardless as many are happy just leave it to the maker, horses for courses.......

Don't know how tall you are, stez keep, but maybe you may need it an inch longer.
