remember if you get it to open wax those threads .

as for glued shut , its possible , but over tightened brass thread have a tendancy to lock together . as the threads barb up as the brass is stretched and lock into eachother .

Send it off to the cuemaker who has posted, and when he has changed the joint maybe he can tell us why it was stuck in the first place

Surely heat causes things to expand.....not contract.....

You are right. But in the case where glue is involved, application of heat breaks down the epoxy(or superglue etc)
