  • balance point

    Hi,

Curently i am using a cue at 57 inches long, with balance point at 17.5inches from butt end. If i am to custom make a cue at 55inches long, should the balance poin stays the same, or it should be moved naturally towards more to the butt end?

My question really is, should i request for same balance point, i cannot figure it out.

    Thank you

Chopping of 2 inches at the front moves the balance point 2mm backwards or approximately 1/10 of an inch. If you are comforatble with your cue weight and balance point then I would stick with it.

It depends on whether you change the amount of cue in front of you bridge or where you grip the cue, I believe, and I've seen some support for this idea, is that the balance point should be measured from the tip and not the butt end of the cue. So as long as you don't change the amount of overhang on your bridge the balance point will always be the same. Hope this helps.

I m not sure about the way i think about the balancing point.
From my point of view, the center point should be from the butt end to where you usually rest on your bridging hand.
17" from the butt is the norm, so if you stick to that, it should not be wrong.

As for my own, my balancing point is 16.5" from the butt which suits me best.
